Though Comfrey has long been mired in anti-marketing by the ‘expert’ class, we, in our usual rebellious way, have been making Comfrey tea for various uses including our water pic juice for periodontal care.
I recently did something stupid and "normal" and hurt my shoulder trying to untangle the bags I was carrying full of things. I couldn't raise my arm above my head without pain... a definite strain. Made a comfrey tea... let it cool, soaked a towel and wrapped my shoulder for about 10-15min. Next day, no pain, had full range of motion! Have done this with sprained ankle also... made a comfrey salve for topical!! LOVE comfrey!!!
Hi weedom1, I don't know if you remember me so I will remind you of our correspondence.
When you did the piece about 'the real yucca', I had ordered some from a vendor from amazon. I waited for almost 2 weeks & it never came then got my money back. Waited about another week and ordered from a different vendor. Again, a week later had not even shipped. Got money back there too. Anyway, never got my 'real yucca' seeds. I guess I will try again...in the spring from who knows where. Do you have any ideas except amazon?
I do business with Richo Cech's Strictly Medicinal Seeds. (No kickbacks for this recommendation :-) He's a smart guy, and gives full info on getting seeds to germinate. Here's the seeds link, and he sells plants too.
👍🏼Hoping that people save on the bills for gum grafts. That recipe also has some calendula and mallow, plantain and a little minty freshness. But even comfrey by itself is great.
I had a dentist try to sell me an implant while he was extracting 2 teeth. That was wild. Since my jaw was dislocated a couple times, and had to be pushed back into place during the process, I was not in the mood. LOL.
Dentists in this area recommend teabags of black tea to poutice after extractions to stem the bleeding. (Tannins). Afer these extractions, I used a lot of teabags. I also avoided ibuprofen so the bleeding would stop and the bone would heal faster.
People can get empty teabags and fill them up with whatever herbs when it's poultice time. Convenient.
Naa. It’s just like making tea, but steeping it longer. Dry herbs into water. We make a quart at a time, and refrigerate it. An ounce total of the dried herbs mix per quart. Maybe someplace like Oshala farm, out West could sell you the dried herbs.

What a fascinating and highly readable piece about comfrey; renewed respect for “knit-bone”.
Thank you.
ThankYOU! Comfrey is going to be available for people long after our regulatory agencies all pass away. :-D

Thank You I am going to check him out. I will get Yucca seeds ---eventually. Hahahaha.
Tremendous! Your experience underscores that Comfrey can beat those highly profitable NSAIDS for many applications.
Thank you! I love thinking about the resilience of comfrey ... and I never even thought about supplementing my water pic water.

Yes, the Waterpik application is brilliant--going to give it a try!
Thanks. Hope it works for you. I updated the post with a link to the recipe that we used, but there are lots of good combos.
I have started the water pik tea idea hoping that will help strengthen a new implant that seems to be failing.
🙏that you have success.

being a bit lacking in the green thumb and mixing herbs department … are you selling that elixir?

I have found some dry herbs … my culinary skills might be up to that recipe. ;-)
I linked the article with our recipe to the post, which I should have done at the outset. https://weedom.substack.com/cp/135363823
Believe me, this stuff is so easy to grown. Very easy. It is so beautiful too. Hardy plant.
And good for the plants around it.
