Whenever I used normal drying methods, the lemon taste would dissipate. Still have some in my freze dried stuff. But it works anyway. The majority of herbs seem to aid diuresis a bit. I believe the main reason people retain fluids is: not enough green leaves. :-)
I dry it in the oven at 170 off and on. I love that it is a weed. I planted a small amount a few years ago and now it is a lemon bomb lol. I am going to try to make the tincture next.
I bet you'll keep more lemon if you keep the drying temp around 90. That's also the temp recommended for the heat cycle of freeze drying herbs for cooking. Keeps the volatile oils from evaporating so much. I think the tincture is worth it to have around for Fall and Winter.
Beautiful baby. Congrats.
Thank you for the information on lemon balm.
I have been drying the weed and drinking the tea at night. It does increase the quality of sleep!
Thank YOU!
Do you have a special drying procedure to retain that lemony flavor (though it's not necessary for the sleep effect) ??
Congratulations on sweet baby!
Thank you!
It doesn't retain the lemon taste. It seems to have a diuretic effect as well.
