Just to clarify, is any passion fruit plant medicinal or is there a particular variety that is more medicinal. I have purple and yellow passion fruit in my garden. I don’t k ow much more about them than that. But I think I need the medicinal benefits in my life.

ThankYOU. If I remember correctly it’s pretty warm in Queensland, even tropical up north.

so you have more possibilities such as P edulis, and varieties I,ve never heard of. 😎

There are various species used around the world for medicine. Each one has a different proportion of constituents, as is usual for the medicinal plants. Some are more useful for anxiety, and others more useful for food, or wound care, or weight control, etc.

You might have some Passiflora edulis or Passiflora incarnata, but it's hard to comment without seeing them. P. edulis grows in USDA zones 10-12, and is used for both fruit and medicine. P. incarnata can survive in temperate zones , dies back in frost, and comes back in spring. Both can be used for medicine, and some of the edulis cultivars make more substantial fruit. Whether your plants make fruit or not helps to narrow down the identification.

Some landscape cultivars that are bred for appearance, rather than medicinal qualities might not be as beneficial.

Here's a site which can help with the 600 or so different possibilities. https://www.passionflow.co.uk/passiflora-passion-flower-id/
